Psychodynamic Counselling

Psychodynamic Counselling is a therapeutic approach that focuses on mental processes that are hidden from us. Past experiences, particularly those from childhood, influence how we feel about ourselves and the patterns we repeat in our current relationships. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space to explore your past and the difficulties you are facing to help you develop awareness, insight and understanding. Through unlocking feelings that may have been hidden for years, you can begin to feel less confused and start making changes in your life. People come to counselling for a variety of reasons and it can be helpful to share your thoughts and feelings with a therapist who is trained to listen and work in a non-judgmental way so we can think together about the problems you are facing.

What to expect in a counselling session:

Sessions last 50 minutes and are non-directive and reflective allowing you to connect past experiences with present behaviours. You might discuss your life experiences, emotions, dreams and childhood memories. This is a confidential space where you can express whatever you are experiencing freely and safely.

Combining Counselling and Herbal Medicine

​​I believe that true wellness encompasses both the body and the mind. By integrating herbal medicine with counselling I can create a comprehensive approach that promotes healing on multiple levels. While herbal remedies, diet changes and
supplements support the body’s natural healing processes, counselling provides the emotional support and insights needed to foster self-awareness and growth. Many herbs have mood-enhancing properties that can help alleviate symptoms such as anxiety and depression or help you manage stress more effectively whilst we work on an emotional level.

Treatment Options

​I offer free 15 minute telephone assessments.
This is an opportunity for you to see if you feel we would be able to work together and consider the most suitable combination of treatments for you.

Counselling
Fees for counselling are £55.00 per session. In cases of financial hardship fees can be negotiated. Sessions are for 50 minutes once a week, at the same time.
​I offer both time-limited and open-ended counselling.

Herbal Medicine Consultations
Each consultation lasts 50 minutes and is charged at £55 per session. Herbs cost approximately £35 per month.
Consultations are usually once per month.
Combined Counselling and Herbal Medicine
This approach would begin with a combined session. Thereafter counselling sessions are for 50 minutes once a week. Approximately every fifth session will focus on herbalism. There is flexibility in this approach. Fees for each session are £55.00.

Payment is accepted via online banking and missed appointments are payable at the full fee.
 
I offer face-to-face sessions from Coggeshall and Chelmsford, Essex. I also offer sessions by telephone or online. It is important that we find the best arrangement to suit your circumstances. ​​
